The peanut butter and jelly sandwich (PB&J) is a staple food item in many households, especially households with children. But PB&J isn’t just for kids! Many adults enjoy a good PB&J occasionally as well.

So, here’s my question. What kind of jelly makes the best PB&J?

Smucker's Apple Jelly

Smucker's Apple Jelly

Obviously, most people automatically think of grape jelly when they think of PB&J. But what about all those other jellies? Doesn’t our Constitution guarantee them equal opportunity? A quick glance at the Smucker’s website revealed ten different jelly flavors: Apple, Black Raspberry, Blackberry, Concord Grape, Currant, Guava, Mint Flavor Apple, Mixed Fruit, Red Raspberry, Strawberry.

I enjoy apple jelly on toast, and we happened to have a jar in the refrigerator. So, today I tried something new. I got piece of bread, spread it thick with peanut butter, and then spooned on a nice layer of Smucker’s Apple Jelly.

Mmmmmmmm! Yummy goodness!

I’m thinking Red Raspberry might be my next PB&J adventure.
