OK, so I was doing a little blog-hopping tonight. I started on my sister-in-law Alyssa’s blog , where she talks about the daily challenges and hilarity of raising her three kids: Lauren and Camryn (the two precious girls to whom she gave birth), and my baby brother Clint (whom she married of her own free will, bless her heart!)

From Alyssa’s blog, I hopped on over to her sister Ashley’s blog . Ashley is absolutely precious (and has a great name, to boot!). She lives in Lubbock with her husband Cody and their daughter Carley. (This is all information that is posted publicly on her blog, just so that no one thinks I am a little too free in revealing personal information about other people. I would only do that for people I don’t like! :) Just kidding.)

Anyway, so while I was on Ashley’s blog, I noticed a name in her blog list that caught my eye, Dustin and Allyson Wall . When Susan and I lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, we knew a family by the name of Wall who had a little boy named Dustin. So I scooted over to the Walls’ blog to see if I could find out if this might just be that same little boy, all grown up. To put it in politician/lawyer-speak, “I was unable to either confirm or deny that this either was or was not in fact the same DustinĀ  Wall that I knew in Corpus Christi as a little baby.” (After further thought, I believe the Walls’ son was named Justin, not Dustin. Kind of blows that whole theory out of the water. Oh, well.)

Anyway, as I was scrolling down through the Wall blog, one of the posts caught my eye: “More Cactus Cuties!! ” Several months ago I received an e-mail with a link to a YouTube video showing a group of 5 very young girls singing an unbelievably amazing rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at a Texas Tech basketball game. I watched the video repeatedly. I was literally moved to tears the first time I heard them sing, and I still get “goose bumps” when I hear them sing our National Anthem.

These young ladies are known as “The Cactus Cuties, from Lubbock, Texas. The YouTube video mentioned above has received over 5 million views! They are, in my book, a true National Treasure. I found the video again tonight, and wanted to share it with you.

Prepare to be amazed!

Ladies and Gentlemen … THE CACTUS CUTIES!
